The seismic data were acquired and processed by GSI, Inc., as part of the site selection process for selecting a deep geothermal test hole (DGT-1) in the Atlantic Coastal Plain sediments somewhere in Virginia or Maryland. The purpose of the seismic data aquisition was primarily to determine depth to crystalline basement and to define the regional continuity of aquifers in the overlying Coastal Plain sediments.
